Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is expected to bring to the market in the not too far future a handset that would run under Microsoft's Windows Phone platform, the so called HTC Trophy, which has already made a series of appearances at large.

Following a range of rumors regarding the handset's availability at Verizon starting with May 12th, the first Trophy dummy units made an appearance at Best Buy, which suggests that the phone might indeed be launched in a few days.

Of course, nothing was officially confirmed on this for the time being, but, with all reports converging to the same point, we should not be surprised if things pan out.

The appearance of HTC Trophy dummy units at Best Buy stores should be followed by the appearance of info sheet with pricing data for the mobile phone.

Provided that the Windows Phone smartphone would indeed become available for purchase as soon as this week, all of the needed info on it would make an appearance into the wild in the immediate future.

On the other hand, there is also the possibility that the actual smartphone would arrive on shelves at a much later date than the dummy units, as has happened with other devices too.

However, the release of HTC Trophy might happen sooner rather than later, at least this is what the available info suggests.

As previously stated, the HTC Trophy would be the very first mobile phone to arrive on shelves at Verizon with the Windows Phone operating system on board.

The handset should sport similar specs with the device that was launched last year as the HTC 7 Trophy, and which is already available for purchase in various markets around the world.

Verizon's model is expected to sport support for the carrier's CDMA network, but the rest of the specifications should remain the same. Keep an eye on this space for additional info on the matter.
