On Thursday, Best Buy Mobile, the mobile specialty retail unit of Best Buy Co. Inc, announced the re-launch of its BestBuy.com/Mobile website. According to the company, the new solution comes around with a series of new features, including online purchasing and Instant Ship, while being focused on offering convenient, customer-focused solutions for shoppers.

“The capabilities within the enhanced site in combination with our in-store experience give Best Buy something completely and totally unique in the mobile phone marketplace,” said Shawn Score, president of Best Buy Mobile. “Now, we are truly a multi-channel mobile phone retailer supporting customers when and where they choose to engage us.” According to Best Buy, it has already managed to become a leading destination for smartphone purchases.

According to the company, the re-launch of Best Buy Mobile follows a long experience it has in the way in which users shop in the store. The new online destination includes features meant to make it unique on the market, while offering an enhanced experience to those shopping for mobile phones and accessories online. Customers will be able to choose a product and have it shipped at home or sent to be picked up from a store, while also benefiting from assistance via a dedicated call center.

Best Buy’s Mobile Web site offers users functions like: - Online purchases: Customers can purchase a mobile phone with a contract using online channels. Customers place their order, and can then choose to pick up in store or have their new phone shipped directly to their home. - Instant Ship: With Instant Ship, if a customer comes in and is qualified for a device that is not available in-store, the device can be ordered and shipped directly from the Web site. Instant Ship online improves the options of phones and colors for customers, and allows customers to have their new handset delivered right to their home.

“We have built an online experience that provides an easy and convenient way for consumers to research and purchase mobile phones,” said Andy Heddle, head of online and direct sales for Best Buy Mobile. “If a customer wants to purchase the phone online and have it shipped to their home, we can do that and it will arrive on their doorstep ready to use. If they need some help and want to pick it up store, then our Best Buy Mobile associates will have it ready and be available to assist them.”
