Apple is set to make the iPad 2 available beginning at 5 p.m. local time at its fancy retail stores tomorrow, March 11. AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon, Walmart and select authorized resellers, are on track to start selling the tablets at the time. Best Buy, however, is handing out tickets for standing in line at 4:30 pm.

The retailer’s official announcement (reproduced below) reveals that sales begin at Apple’s self-imposed hour, and that customers have the opportunity to reserve their iPad 2 for in-store pick-up beginning on March 12.

Best Buy also notes that Apple fans will be given tickets to purchase the iPad 2 on a first come, first serve basis.

MINNEAPOLIS – March 10, 2011 – Best Buy Co. Inc., the nation's largest consumer electronics retailer, announced today that iPad 2 will be available at all Best Buy stores and select Best Buy Mobile standalone locations beginning at 5 p.m. local time on March 11.

Best Buy customers will be given tickets to purchase the iPad 2 on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 4:30 p.m. local time on March 11. Best Buy will also offer customers the opportunity to reserve their iPad 2 for in-store pick-up beginning on March 12, with a fully refundable $100 deposit.

The iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available for $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for the 32GB model, and $699 for the 64GB model.

iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be sold for $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB model and $829 for the 64GB model.

Those looking to grab themselves an iPad 2 accessory will be able to do so at all of its stores, including select Best Buy Mobile standalone locations across the U.S., the retailer said.
