Best Buy is expanding availability of Apple’s iPad, both the WiFi and 3G versions, to all of its US stores later this month, in a move that will surely count for Apple’s bottom line this quarter, given the popularity of the device.

“Best Buy Co. Inc., the nation’s largest consumer electronics retailer, today announced that it will expand availability of the Apple iPad with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi +3G models to all 1,093 U.S. stores beginning Sept. 26,” the company said in a report.

The retailer added: “Best Buy is a preferred channel partner for the Apple iPad, now selling the popular device online (for in-store pick-up) and through Apple Shop locations within 673 Best Buy stores.”

“Technology is becoming more and more personal, and our customers say they really value visiting a Best Buy store to touch and try the iPad for themselves,” said Wendy Fritz, senior vice president of computing at Best Buy.

“We’re delighted that we’ll soon make that opportunity available to everyone who’d like to come see us, and experience this device in any Best Buy store nationwide,” Fritz added.

Best Buy includes a small description of Apple’s tablet, saying the device is specifically tailored for tasks like browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying and sharing photos, watching HD videos, listening to music, playing games, reading ebooks, and more.

It mentions the iPad’s Multi-Touch user interface, as well as the tablet’s physical dimensions - 0.5 inches thick, weighs 1.5 pounds.

The retailer doesn’t forget to note that Apple’s iPad boasts an impressive battery, which holds up to 10 hours.

The device will sell at Best Buy for the same prices announced by Apple when the slate-shaped device was introduced earlier this year.

Starting at $499.99, the 16GB WiFi iPad will be immediately available for purchase, alongside the WiFI + 3G model, which will retail for $629.99.

Best Buy will be offering a range of iPad accessories as well, the announcement said. These will also be available beginning September 26.
