Although Xperia PLAY and arc are slated for an April 28th release through Canadian carrier Rogers, major retailer Best Buy insisted to inform customers that it will also carry both Android smartphones along with a special bonus

All customers who purchase any of the two device will receive a $50 Best Buy Gift Card. However, the offer is only available to those who purchase the phones with a new 36 month activation.

The retailer confirmed that Xperia Play and arc will be available at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores across Canada on the Rogers network beginning April 28.

Both smartphones have been tagged with the same $99.99 price, which requires a new three-year agreement. Customers who want to avoid being tied to a long-term contract can choose to pay $549.99 upfront and get any of the two smartphones.

It is also worth mentioning that Xperia Play will be delivered pre-loaded with $60 of highly acclaimed titles, such as Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior, Star Battalion, FIFA 10, Tetris and Crash Bandicoot.

The device allows users to play PlayStation Suite games and is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, touch focus and image stabilization.

It comes with a large 4.0-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

Xperia arc is the first smartphone to feature the Sony Exmor R mobile camera with HD video capture, as well as Reality Display based on the company's BRAVIA Engine technology, which makes videos and photos appear sharper and more vivid.

The smartphone is powered by a single 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor (with Adreno 205 GPU) and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform.

Xperia arc and Xperia PLAY will be available in Canada exclusively through Rogers, although there are no further details regarding the exclusivity timeline.
