Michael Schumacher's retirement is a question that haunts most of the Formula One fans. The German announced, earlier this year, that he's beginning to think about retirement. And that was all the media needed to start making allegations. When seeing that, Schumacher gave us all the timing of his final decision: the Italian GP, at Monza.
Still, that wasn't enough for the journalists. So they started predicting that, if Schumacher is to win the championship, he will
retire like a real champion. If not, he'll stay until he conquers another trophy. Actually, one of Michael's closest friends also advised him to go out in glory.
Still, the German kept his distance and secrecy and told the media that they'll find out the answer within a month. And, as everybody wonders how the Formula One will look like with Schumacher out of the picture, F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone gave a pretty surprising statement.
"The Formula One will go on very well without Michael in it. If we look at the past, we will see that the competition is still the most popular racing event from 1950 on. And a lot of champions have said good bye along the way. After Ayrton Senna's death, all of my colleagues though that was the end for Formula One", admitted Ecclestone.
And the Briton continued to make an example out of the Brazilian champ: "Senna was much more popular than Schumacher is right now and the Formula One continued to exist. What's great about this competition is that it seeks new champions all the time, and its spectacle doesn't stand in only a racer, but in all of them. What the crowd wants to see is a spectacular race. We are only trying to make that happen".
