Another month, another change to AMD's leading staff. This time around, a new vice president and general manager of the Client Business Unit has been selected.

The newest addition to AMD's list of high-ranking employees is a man by the name of Bernd Lienhard.

48 years of age, he has a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in electrical engineering from Fachhochschule in Munich, Germany.

He also has 22 years of experience in the industry, having most recently served as vice president and general manager of Freescale Semiconductor's Networking Processor Division.

At Advanced Micro Devices, he will have to somehow encourage the company's expansion on the ultraportable and ultra low-power gadget markets.

That includes even laptops powered by the still unreleased Richland accelerated processing units (APUs) and the "Temash" and "Kabini" SoCs.
