14 DAY TRIAL // Munich might have reported a successful switch to a Linux-based solution for its city administration, but Berlin has denied a similar proposition.
According to a report published by h-online.com, German Green Party has forwarded a petition to the governing body of the Berlin city administration, but has failed to convince them about the necessity of switching to open source.
The members of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU) have rejected the proposal, and have accused the German Green Party that is biased against the proprietary solution.
This is not the first time when this kind of proposal is rejected in Berlin, but the member of the German Green Party hope that the Munich example will be a powerful one.
Munich has adopted the LiMux project and reportedly saved millions of Euro in the process.
