Berkleemusic, the online division/extension of the Berklee College, has announced 2 new guitar-oriented certificate programs starting April 9th.

The first and the more consistent one is the Guitar Master Certificate Program which contains 8 courses spread on a 2 years time and which will teach students thorough issues on things like morphological fundaments of scales and chords, as well as get to possess in-depth knowledge on the three major guitar styles: jazz, blues and rock.

After you have mastered enough these notions, you can specialize in any of the following: rhythm and groove guitar, recording and producing for guitarists, getting your guitar tone, basic improvisation, and basic ear training, during a span of 3 more courses.

The second proposal coming from Berkleemusic is a 5-course Guitar Styles Professional certificate and it will provide knowledge on jazz, rock, blues and rhythm and groove styles adding extensive information on selecting and combining guitars, arranging and effect/amps used by the professional players.

The study of arraying gear will be based upon experience of guitar players like Grant Green, B.B. King, Wes Montgomery, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, John Scofield, T-Bone Walker, Jimi Hendrix, Lightning Hopkins, and Magic Sam. Basically, this program attempts to make a guitar tech engineer out of you!
