Ubiday, Ubisoft's press event has revealed that they will be publishing Beowulf, an action adventure title based on the upcoming Robert Zemeckis film. The game is currently in development over at 4HEAD studios and is probably going to release only for the Xbox 360 in fall, as the movie with the same title releases in November.

"Beowulf is an exceptionally strong license and has the potential to make quite a splash on next-generation platforms. With 4HEAD and 3D-IO, we have brought two of the most talented teams in the industry together, in order to develop this game to its maximum potential," said 4HEAD back in march 2006.

According to the same press release in which the above statement was found, Beowulf is a combat-driven action adventure game set in the realms of Nordic mythology. It tells the story of a daring hero, Beowulf and his adventures during the early Viking age. The innovative new fighting system and the exceptional story and characters make this game a must-have for action-adventure enthusiasts.

Even back then it was known that Beowulf was to become a next-gen title, as Tobias Severin, the CEO of 4HEAD Studios stated: "We are thrilled to be providing our experience and workforce to this amazing new title. Our workflow and toolchain have been tailored specifically for large-scale productions such as this, and our team has proven that it can deliver great action adventure game experiences. We look forward to bringing the Beowulf franchise to next-generation gaming platforms."

Thus, Beowulf is currently said to be released only on Xbox 360, as HEXUS.gaming reports. Ubisoft is a big-time PS3 publisher also, but it's mostly up to the developer to make things work with the SIXAXIS, so until further notice, this is all on Beowulf, but EndWar is something worth to be expected also...
