Fans of the British actor Benedict Cumberbatch are going to be thrilled he's got a new movie coming out, a historical drama called “The Imitation Game.” This should keep your appetite satisfied until filming on “Sherlock” resumes next year around Christmas.

The historical drama is set to open at the BFI London Film Festival on October 8 and it's already generating some positive waves, thanks in part to this trailer that explains the role Alan Turing, the genius mathematician, played in the British victory in the Second World War.

Turing was engaged in pioneering code-breaking as a secret facility at Bletchley Park and his contribution to the war effort proved crucial in Germany's defeat during World War II.

Cumberbatch has chosen yet again a controversial character to portray, as Turing was in real life prosecuted for being gay and convicted in 1952, after which he chose to be chemically castrated instead of opting for jail. Just two years later, he was found dead of an apparent suicide.

Along Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Mark Strong and Matthew Goode also appear in “The Imitation Game,” a film that is going to open in cinemas this November. The trailer should provide you with enough incentive to watch the movie without giving away too much of the plot.
