Benedict Cumberbatch confirms he won't be starring in “Star Wars: Episode VII”

It was with a heavy heart that Benedict made the announcement that he wouldn't be starring in the latest Star Wars film, despite the fact that rumors had him pinned as being eyed for an undisclosed part in the saga.

“I would've liked a part in J.J.'s new Star Wars but it won't happen, sadly,” Cumberbatch said but did not elaborate on the reasons that led to this incompatibility. As you might be aware, the entire casting process for the movie directed by J.J. Abrams is still under very tight wraps, so the newspapers along with the fans are eager to get every little bit of detail.

The fact that Cumberbatch is now out of the race indicates that Gary Oldman will be playing in the movie, because rumors had the two actors fighting for the same role. That has still to be confirmed.

All we know for certain at this moment is that the script has been finalized, shooting has started and the casting process is nearing completion any day now. Officially, the movie begins shooting in Abu Dhabi in mid-May and is going to be ready for its premiere on December, 2015.
