It was an amazing experience but he’s not at liberty to say anything about it

Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the hottest additions to the cast of “Star Trek 2,” the sequel to J.J. Abram's 2009 blockbuster. However, don't expect him to give out any details about it or, for that matter, the role he'll be playing in it.

Nominated at this year's BAFTAs for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes in the BBC One series, the actor made sure he gave plenty of interviews on the red carpet, one of which happened to touch loosely on “Star Trek.”

You can see it in full above.

While Benedict is very generous when it comes to praising the people working on the sequel, saying it was one of the best experiences of his life, he's also very careful in not spilling the beans on it.

When asked directly whether he'll be playing villain Khan, the actor says he doesn't want to spoil all the fun for fans by talking about his character.

“Just going to leave it with a smile,” he says – and then does just that. Check it out.
