When it made the W7000 official at the beginning of December 2011, BenQ failed to provide us with any info regarding the price or the availability of this 3D 1080p HD home cinema projector, but recently the company decided to provide us with these last pieces of the puzzle.

At the heart of BenQ's W7000 stands the DLP Link technology which, according to the company, allows its creation to deliver crosstalk free 1080p Full HD 3D images to both eyes while also sporting a 50000:1 high contrast ratio.

The maximum brightness is estimated at 2000 ANSI lumens and the W7000 is also the first projector in the world to be accredited with the TUV Rheinland 3D Full HD Certification.

In addition, the projection lens is comprised only of glass-made elements in order to deliver more image details and better brightness performance, while also being able to match the Rec. 709 color gamut.

Other features include independent 3D color control, ISFccc certification, support for BenQ’s Eco mode, lamp life of up to 2500 hours, as well as support for both NTSC and PAL encoding systems.

The available video inputs include a pair of HDMI 1.4a port, a D-Sub connector, component video, and S-Video, while the integrated RS232 port can be used for controlling the projector remotely.

"The W7000 represents an exciting new chapter for us here at BenQ," said Lars Yoder, president at BenQ America Corp.

"What really sets the projector apart is its ability to deliver a 'real 3D home cinema experience.' The W7000 allows consumers to enjoy 3D content with full-HD resolution in both eyes.

“There is no crosstalk and additional emitters and transmission devices are not required, just fully immersive 3D enjoyment," concluded BenQ’s rep.

The W7000 will be available for the North American market later in the first quarter of this year, with a recommended price tag of $3,999 (3,163 EUR).
