While Samsung is busy filling the market with various new product lines, some other, previously-introduced devices are also making progress of their own, like a certain BenQ display which has finally reached stores.

BenQ isn't exactly out to have a face off with the new plasma TVs that Samsung unleashed, but it still has its own displays to offer.

One of them is a certain monitor that was actually unveiled as far back as January but has only now managed to reach European stores, or will do so in a few days.

The product in question bears the name of EW2430 and has a screen ssize of 24 inches, along with a set of specifications that place it well into the high-end segment.

In other words, the native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, which pretty much every new decent monitor nowadays has, is just the start.

The main asset is the contrast ratios, both the static and the dynamic ones. The former is a nice 3,000:1 (most monitors have 1,000:1), while that latter is of no less than 20,000,000:1.

With this to ensure a high image sharpness and overall quality, BenQ decided to also implement the Senseye 3 image enhancement technology which can adjust brightness and contrast automatically, even featuring six pre-calibrated modes.

The LED backlighting technology ad the VA (vertical alignment) panel are the factors behind these image quality parameters.

What's more, the screen has very wide viewing angles, of 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically.

All the above, along with D-Sub and HDMI v1.2 ports, plus a pair of 3W speakers, are packed inside a frame with piano black finish. Finally, a smooth aluminum stand gives the EW2430 the needed level of presence.

BenQ paired its VA-LED monitor with a price of 279 Euro, but pre-order listings supposedly have it at as little as 237 Euro. Those that want a closer look at it need only drop by this official product page.
