It would seem that the BenQ company has managed to solve most of its financial problems and has begun the long road towards reclaiming its former position as one of the world's most important manufacturers of consumer electronics. And one of the devices that might really help it along the way is the SH4241, a 42-inch LCD just announced for the Taiwanese
market.
According to the company, this device marks a whole new era in the history of BenQ, as it incorporates all sorts of advanced technologies, especially in the connectivity area. Nevertheless, the company doesn't provide any significant information regarding the said innovations, but the details they do provide are pretty promising.
Thus, as mentioned earlier, the SH4241 sports a 42-inch LCD display and provides a 1,920 x 1,080 video output, as well as a "dual-core" video processing system, formed out of 2 Senseye image processing units. According to the company, unlike in the case of normal monitors, the Senseye technology separates color signals and adjusts each one individually, thus avoiding distortion and delivering richer, fuller colors.
However, the SH4241 holds even more surprises in store for the possible customers. Thus, it would appear that the LCD display features a context color matrix adjustment function that provides up to 125 different visual effects, thus catering to needs of all types of users, whether we're talking about avid gamers or home theater aficionados. Moreover, the device sports a Dynamic Gamma function, whose main purpose is to strengthen the dark and bright screen contrast, thus providing more subtle images and a higher level of clarity.
The television set also has a very interesting external design, featuring a piano black finish with black / red accents. The device from BenQ also delivers good-quality sound via its bottom-mounted speakers, thus providing a complete and comprehensive viewing solution.
No pricing information is available for now, but we'll keep you posted as soon as this thing hits the shelves (Taiwan first).
