BenQ has rolled out, over time, quite a serious lineup of compact, point-and-shoot digital cameras, the latest addition to their family of imaging products being the C1430 model.

Now, despite of the fact that BenQ's cameras typically offered quite a good value (price/performance ratio), they're not exactly known as the best imagers around, and, to some extent, that's also the case with the particular device you'll read about as follows.

The C1430 comes equipped with a 14-megapixel CMOS sensor featuring Back Side Illuminated tech, that, according to the company, should seriously boost the camera's low-light photo capturing capabilities.

Moreover, the camera offers a 3x optical zoom, as well as 720p video recording, a feature provided by most imagers released on the market over the past year or so.

What's interesting to add here is that the camera also adds automatically 3 seconds of pre-recorded footage to the video being recorded.

Additionally, the new camera from BenQ also offers a HDR (High Dynamic Range) function, that allows users to take photos with plenty of details in areas with low light, by combining a series of over-exposed and under-exposed images, right within the camera, without the help of a computer.

Similar to the wide majority of mainstream-grade compact digital cameras released onto the market lately, the new BenQ C1430 also packs plenty of built-in effects and photo modes, ranging from Self/Love Portrait and Blink detector to such features as the LOMO effect, Fisheye Lens, Color Accent and Beauty Enhancer.

The most interesting of the lot is the Web-Auction mode that, according to BenQ, will let users take photos of items they want to auction off online from four different angles, and then automatically merge them into a single product-shot.

The BenQ C1430 digital camera will be available in black and silver versions and will be available in March, 2011, pricing most likely depending directly on the specific market.
