Trying to make the most of the upcoming back-to-school season, Taiwan-based BenQ has recently announced the introduction of its latest display solutions, designed to provide customers with a choice for a new LED backlit monitor. With the announcement, the company has brought forth a new 24-inch LED widescreen display, the V2400 Eco, accompanied by the world’s first 21.5-inch LED widescreen, namely the V2200 Eco. Both displays are designed to deliver support for full HD 1080p video and can deliver a number of eco-friendly design features.

“Our dedication to Enjoyment Matters has always been greater than just creating awesome products that bring fun to life,” said Peter Chen, general manager of BenQ Technology Product Center. “This corporate motto promises a greater commitment to our customers, to our planet, to Life. Such is captured in our new V Eco models – from components to product ID to packaging, every step lives up to the highest standards of environmental and human responsibility to ensure that life today and life in the future will always be Lookin’ Great.”

In regard to the technical specifications of its new LCD monitors, the company touts a contrast ratio of 5 million to 1 for intense blacks and extreme whites. In addition, like the rest of BenQ’s recently announced LCD monitors, the new eco-friendly products are featured with the company’s Senseye 3 Human Vision technology, said to provide the end-user with an increased visual quality. In their built-in Eco mode, the new monitors are said to be capable of consuming 30% less power. Featuring a refreshed design, the two are certified for TCO 5.0, RoHS, EnergySTAR 4.1, EuP Energy, PC3R and EPEAT GOLD specifications.

Unfortunately the company is yet to announce the pricing details of the new monitors. However, according to BenQ, both the V2400 Eco and V2200 Eco are expected to become available worldwide, starting with China in mid-August.
