LED backlights have started to be used more and more frequently and in an ever-increasing number of displays, from the smallest photo frames to large liquid crystal display desktop or all-in-one monitors. Eager to further exploit the high power efficiency and reliability of this technology, BenQ has announced that it has once again expanded its LED-backlit LCD lineup, this time by revealing a pair of devices meant to succeed the V2400 Eco LED Monitor. The two go by the names of V2410T and V2410B and are “tastefully stylish and yet environmentally conscious.”
The two products are almost identical, with the exception that the V2410T has height adjustment capabilities, whereas the V2410B lacks them, in order to reach a lower price point. Their other specifications include a screen size of 24 inches, a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the 16:9 aspect ratio without geometric distortion and a 5ms response time. Furthermore, the two devices feature the Senseye Human Visual Technology, which confers upon the displays a high image clarity through BenQ's six proprietary calibration techniques.
In its official press release, the company makes a point of pointing out the advantages that LED has over CCFL. The higher quality backlight does not only enable a power consumption 44% lower, or 56% lower in Eco mode, but it does this while also bringing a higher dynamic contrast ratio. Other benefits of the monitors include plug and play readiness and compatibility with Windows 7.
“BenQ’s V2410T and V2410B’s LED backlit screens with Full 1080p High-Definition at 16:9 aspect ratio present users the perfection of uncompressed images. Further enhanced with BenQ’s Senseye Human Visual Technology using its six proprietary calibration techniques, the monitors are able to produce uncompromised, crystal clear visuals,” the press release states.
The V2410T and V2410B will become available in April, in Europe and China, and will be priced at $319 and $279, respectively.
