A new unveiling at Computex

This year's Computex edition has brought several innovations when it comes to telecommunications technology. BenQ E72 is just one of them, although not a negligible one.

Interesting enough, this new mobile phone coming from BenQ has Windows Mobile 6 installed. Moreover, technical features reveal the fact that the E72 phone model has a 260 Mhz processor and a memory pack made of 128MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM. An additional data storage space is provided through the microSD slot.

BenQ E72 comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera which will provide images at a high quality for those that don't wish for exceptional performances. For reasonable quality image and video display, this handset comes with a 2 inch QVGA TFT LCD display. These are not top performances, but we must take into account the fact that this phone's special talent is not that of taking pictures.

Connectivity is available through Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi. Moreover, it will also support UMA (unlicensed mobile access)/VoIP and push email technology. These performances might not be out of the ordinary, but prove indispensable for a respectable smartphone.

What does make this handset impressive is the fact that it manages to pack all these performances into such a small case. BenQ E72's exact dimensions have not been revealed, but by the looks of it, this makes a comfortable and easy to handle mobile phone. The design is somewhat similar to that of a Nokia phone model, even though it has some differences too. All in all, BenQ E72 looks smart and highly capable. It turns out that it really is so, even though nothing will turn out to be too impressive about it.

The price that BenQ E72 will come for, as well as the exact date when it is available for release have not been specified yet.
