Yes, it's not a lie and it's certainly not a joke. Famous modder Ben Heck has just come up with a controller for the Xbox 360, which you can supposedly use with just one hand. Of course, many of you will find this useless and even ridiculous but everyone should really just appreciate the craftiness of the device and the effort put into making it possible.

The "Access Controller," is the work of "a man who loves modding," according to geekologie.com. The same source confirms that it is "a controller for the XBox 360 that you can use with one hand." Up on techeblog.com, Ben Heck explains how it works:

"You lay this controller on your leg, table or arm of a chair and all the buttons are available on the top surface. The gag is that each of the five sections is removable and you can plug them anywhere you want. This not only makes the controller work for both left and right handed use (simply mirror the layout) but it also allows the user to optimize the button placement on a game-by-game basis."

Any question you might have regarding the way it was made, how it's powered up, how big it is and how you're supposed to use it, will be answered by taking a good look at the images below. Oh, and the one to the top left side of the article. Then, we'd also appreciate it if you spared a minute to write down an impression within the comments column. Why? Well, for once, 'cause it's nice, you know - we write the news, the reader has an observation to make (be it a negative one)... it's fun!

And then, it's because we'd really like to see if there's anyone out there who'd actually try playing games on their 360 using this? Come on, I mean, yeah sure we said you should appreciate how the thing's crafted and all that, but who in their right mind would use this to play video games, except its creator, who wouldn't admit it's bad even if it blew up under his hand, thumb flying out the window...

But the thing is, Heck does mods. It's just what he does and he loves it. It doesn't necessarily mean that all the mods have to be useful. Ben creates them, he presents them, we, curious dumb-asses write about them and everyone moves on. And whether it's good for Halo 3 online or not isn't all that important. What's important is that it could be done and Heck did it. Is there anything that he can't do...?
