14 DAY TRIAL // Video footage has emerged showing Ben Affleck counting cards in Las Vegas at the blackjack table in the Hard Rock Casino, definitive proof that his gambling addiction is back to haunt him. The actor made headline news last week, when he got banned from the blackjack table after security took notice of his hefty winnings.
The actor was then escorted away from the table and told that he could play any other game, except blackjack. Now, a week later after the incident, Star Magazine is reporting that wife Jennifer Garner is furious that he was caught gambling again.
When the incident was reported by the media, it was mentioned that Jennifer was actually by his side at the time, and now the magazine claims that this was because she insisted to travel with him to Vegas because she didn't trust him gambling.
“Jen demanded to go to Vegas with Ben because she doesn’t trust him,” says an unnamed source, adding that “[Ben] felt like he had no choice but to take her. But after their dinners there each night, she would go back to their suite while Ben would stay out all night playing cards, betting thousands of dollars at a time. It makes Jen so mad, but once Ben starts gambling, he can’t stop.”
Jennifer didn't care to hide her disapproval at Ben's gambling on the night he was caught, says the insider. “After Ben had been playing for about an hour, the pit boss started making phone calls. Then, shortly after, security confronted Ben. He was told he needed to leave and was escorted out Before he left the table, he grabbed a ton of chips and put them in his satchel. [Jen] followed him out, way behind him. She had her head down and looked embarrassed and ashamed.”
But Ben's night would be getting a lot worse once they got into their hotel room. It seems that Jennifer took out all the rage she'd bottled up on the casino floor on her husband: “Jen screamed at him, telling him he needed to quit gambling for good. But he told her that he’s a grown man and will do what he wants.”
While there are clearly some fabrications within this report that seems to follow the famous couple even behind closed doors, it is known that Ben has a bit of a problem with gambling, and, while he seemed to have licked it once, it does look like it's made a comeback these days.
Let's hope that Ben's problems with cards are going to take a back seat to work in the following months, as he's getting ready start filming for the “Man of Steel” sequel in which he'll be portraying Batman.
