But what you didn't know is that there are now rumors floating around that Ben Affleck might have had more than a professional relationship with young model Emily Ratajkowski, who plays his illicit lover in the movie.
Star Magazine is running a story this week in which it claims that Emily and Ben got hot and steamy not just on screen but also in real life. The tabloid quotes one insider who insists that the two actors would spend hours together, sitting in a trailer, doing God-knows-what.
Ben and wife Jennifer are said to be covering a marriage crisis
Truth be told, the magazine never really accuses Ben of cheating on his wife Jennifer Garner with Emily, but they will say that there was something suspicious about the way the two behaved on the set.
They think that their theory is supported by the fact that both Ben and Jennifer have been gushing about each other in interviews recently, and that isn't something they would normally do, pointing that it's a cover up for a marriage crisis.
One insider jumps to the conclusion that “Jen is unhappy, and she doesn't trust Ben.” The last time there was “trouble in paradise” for these two was back in April, when Ben had that whole card-counting casino scandal going on. Ever since the movie came out, those rumors that their marriage is on the rocks have come back with a vengeance.
Ben chose Emily for the role himself and then spent hours alone with her during their downtime
The magazine goes on to point out that it was Ben who personally picked Emily Ratajkowski, 23, for the role of the mistress, and quotes the insider about how Jennifer reacted to the news, “When Jen learned secondhand that Ben had picked a hot model for the role, she flipped… Ben tried to calm her down, but she was in tears. She’s still devastated…”
Next, we find out that Ben and Emily were pretty close during filming, and not just for their scenes. “They definitely got extremely close during filming. They were always flirting and laughing together, just like two kids… There wasn’t much to do in town, so Ben and Emily just spent a lot of time hanging out together in their trailers or at the hotel. Away from the Hollywood spotlight, they had a lot of privacy…”
The conclusion drawn by the source and by the magazine is that Jennifer would definitely divorce Affleck if she found out about the affair. They would even go as far as to venture a guess that the divorce would be ugly, since Garner had “put up with his crap for many years.”
