Of all the people rumored to have counseled Lindsay Lohan throughout the years, perhaps Ben Affleck is the best choice when it comes to offering advice on how to stay sober and make a splashing comeback in showbiz.

TMZ claims to have it on good authority that Affleck, who won an Oscar for Best Director in February 2013, paid Lohan a visit when she still was in court-mandated rehab.

Contrary to online reports, he didn’t offer her a job (Lohan was briefly linked to his upcoming movie, “Live by Night”), but he did offer her something more important: advice from a place of experience.

“Affleck – who himself was in rehab back in 2001 – met Lindsay somewhere away from the Cliffside rehab facility in Malibu where Lindsay was getting treatment. We're told Ben gave her guidance on how to maintain sobriety after rehab for someone in Hollywood,” the celebrity publication writes.

“We're told Ben talked to Lindsay about how to make a comeback in Hollywood – a subject on which he's an expert. Ben talked to Lindsay about her career – on how talented she is and how she has the ability to turn things around,” TMZ continues.

“Ben also told her how supportive the entertainment community is for people who make a real effort to get better and stay clean. Our sources say the meeting really touched her,” the report further notes.

Right now, Lindsay is out of rehab and shooting an 8-part docuseries that will air on OWN and will focus precisely on her comeback.

OWN will also air her first interview since rehab, which has already been taped. Oprah herself had nothing but kind words to say of the rehabbed actress in a recent interview, including how she seems at her happiest, healthiest and most confident.
