Vodafone Australia announced the availability of the Belle update for Nokia N8, C7 and E7 about a week ago. Unfortunately, Nokia E6 owners have been left out with the promise that the update will soon become available for their smartphones as well.

Today, the carrier officially confirmed the Belle update is available for download for all Nokia E6 units purchased via Vodafone’s official sales channels.

Obviously, the update requires E6 owners to download and install the latest version of Nokia Ovi Suite software on their PCs.

We also recommend users to back up their sensitive data stored on the phone before updating to Nokia Belle. The update file is about 300 MB in size and is available free of charge.

Keep in mind that this Belle update is only compatible with Nokia E6 smartphone sold by Vodafone and 3 carriers.

With Nokia Belle, Symbian fans will be offered an improved user experience. There will be new home screens, streamlined imaging experience, as well as simplified interaction and NFC sharing.

Several dedicated applications and services will be updated with new and improved features, including Nokia Maps.

Furthermore, the major software update brings a slew of new widgets to all Nokia E6 smartphones, such as: Social (including Twitter and Facebook), Calendar, Maps, Contacts (individual and favorites), Maps, Wi-Fi on/off, NFC on/off, Search, Digital & Analogue Clocks, Music Player & FM Radio, Email and Profile Selection.

Nokia confirmed the update would add three additional home screens, which could be populated with lots of multi-sized, interactive widgets. Simply tap and hold on the home screen to add a new widget.

The update also makes it easier to move widgets between pages to the next free spot. It is also worth mentioning that portrait and landscape layouts have been fully optimized to work on Nokia E6 with Belle.
