It seems that one more nice-looking touchscreen mobile phone is making its way to Bell's offering, namely the popular Samsung Omnia. The cell phone carrier is expected to start offering the Samsung Omnia come April this year, between April 9th and 12th, to be more precise.

The new handset that is to come to Canadian users in the near future has seen a lot of traction in the United States and should see the same popularity in Canada as well. The device is powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system and is able to offer users a nice range of features.

The specification list of Omnia shows it as including a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that is able to provide users with a 240 x 400 pixel resolution and support for 256K colors, while also sporting a 5-megapixel photo snapper that features auto focus, image stabilization, face detection, smile detection and LED flash, as well as video recording capabilities.

Other specifications of the Samsung Omnia include GPS navigation capabilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as EV-DO Rev. 0 / Rev. A, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0, a Marvell PXA312 624 MHz CPU, 128 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM, 8 GB/16 GB internal storage capacity coupled with a microSD memory card slot that allows for an additional 16GB of external memory to be added.

The handset measures 112 x 56.9 x 12.5 mm and weighs 122 g. It comes with multimedia features, like music player with support for MP3/AAC/AAC+/WMA/OGG/AMR, as well as a video player that supports DivX/XviD/WMV/MP4, TV-Out, FM Radio with RDS, and a nice range of Internet capabilities too. For the time being there are no details on the price tag the Samsung Omnia should feature on Bell, yet the company charges $199.95 for a smartphone at the moment.
