Canadian mobile phone maker Bell has just started to deliver the BlackBerry 7.1 OS to the owners of BlackBerry Torch 9860 smartphones on its airwaves.

Today, all those who have such a device on Bell’s network can head over to this download page to get the OS 7.1.0.267 software update for them.

Some users have already had the possibility to install the new OS version on their devices, courtesy of a leaked ROM that made it online not too long ago.

The new update brings along various performance enhancements to the smartphone, together with bug fixes and new features.

To install the BlackBerry 7.1 OS on their Torch 9860 devices, users should download the aforementioned file via a desktop computer. For that, they will have to have the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on their PCs, and will have to connect the smartphone to the computer via a USB cable.
