Bell is probably getting ready for the arrival of the new Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo

Samsung recently launched the new Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches, but what about the original Galaxy Gear? The device has a pretty short life, being introduced just last fall at IFA 2014 in Berlin with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet.

It wasn't a bad product and bear in mind that it was Samsung’s first venture into wearables, but a few months later the Korean tech giant is already showing its successors. Anyway, as we’re continuing to await for the official pricing of the new Samsung smartwatch some of you might be asking yourselves, how much is the original Galaxy Gear costing now?

If you’re located in Canada, you could be picking up Sammy’s original smartwatch at quite a bargain. For example, Bell is offering it for just $95.97 / €72.

That’s a pretty generous discount, but what’s actually going on here, is Bell clearing out its inventory before the new Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo arrive and grab all the attention.

So if you’re not all that impressed with the new smartwatches (check out our comparison between the Galaxy Gear, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo for a chance to see what you’d be missing out) and you think the Galaxy Gear could suit your needs, you can go grab one up, as we speak. It appears there’s a limit to three per person at checkout, but that shouldn't discourage you.
