Canadian wireless operator Bell Mobility has made available to its subscribers a new message-centric mobile phone, the Samsung Vice, which also includes 3G capabilities, besides the slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a user-friendly and convenient UI. The new handset from Samsung is meant to become a world phone, and it comes to Bell Mobility’s 3G wireless network dressed up in blue with silver or in white with red.

“Samsung’s Vice is the ultimate tool for text-happy Canadians,” said Paul Brannen, general manager, Wireless Terminal Division, Samsung Electronics Canada. “This fun and affordable handset addresses the unique needs of those who enjoy staying connected through social networking sites, instant messaging, mobile browsing, email and texting.”

The new device can offer mobile phone users in Canada one-click access to social networking sites, as well as easy text and email messaging capabilities. In addition, it also sports a 2-megapixel photo snapper, as well as integration with Bell Media Player, HTML web browsing functionality, and support for services like Full Track Music, Live TV and GPS Nav. In addition, the Bell Mobility UI the handset sports also offers quick updates on weather, sports and more.

The specification list of Samsung Vice also shows a side button for accessing the camera, Speakerphone, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 2.2-inch display with support for up to 265K colors, MP3 player, satellite radio, support for Windows Live, a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 8GB of additional storage space, as well as a series of included tools like voice memo, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, tip calculator, world clock and notepad.

Bell Mobility also has a promotional offer for the Samsung Vice, namely it allows the first 20,000 consumers who acquire the handset to choose from 1 of 50 free decals that will offer them the possibility to personalize their handset. The new mobile phone can be purchased from the operator for$49.95 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement, but it is also available free of contract, for a price tag of $249.95.

The Samsung Vice has a nice solid feel versus others such as the LG Rumour which I looked at. If you sign up for a 3 year contract then you need a phone to last the duration. It has a ton of features (still trying to get the hang of all of them). I really like the contacts setup and the amount of info that you can enter for each record. Prefer the Samsung menu system to the Bell one. I do find that signal reception (solely based on the number of bars) to be inferior to my Samsung A740. Bonus to this unit is the USB interface, I can charge it at my laptop or same charger as my IPOD (which I really don't need now that I have installed a microSD card with my music), also comes with wall charger and handsfree ear buds all for free. The only thing I didn't get was a case for it (virtually no selection in that dept as the unit is so new).

I got the samsung vice yesterday, and i was wondering how to put music on it. I dont want to buy songs off it, and i have songs on the computer. How can I transfer them?

You can't put music on it, because the phone sucks!
well not really its a pretty good phone for the price, plus the standard head phone jack was my reason to buy it. You can't put music on it because the bastards who made the phone, didn't make your usb cord so you could upload songs unto it. Its actually so you can charge your phone (kinda pointless considering it comes with both wall and usb chargers) So how do u put music on your phone? You don't really you have to buy this little USB stick that looks like a flash drive, but with no data. Basically your micro SD memory card will stick right into the back of that and you plug that into ur computer and start transferring your songs, then just put the memory card back in ur phone and it should work like a charm.
DAMN I HATE SPENDING MONEY!
I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy one of these when I picked up my phone, that why I got one with USB in the first place, but W/E they only cost 5-10$ hey you can sometimes even buy them in a package with your memory card

I got this phone for christmas from some family members. It works fine, except for the once in a while glitchs. Sometimes it freezes and takes three-five minutes for it to unfreeze. But I handle that pretty easily. Also other times the screen looks detached.. because it just messes up (hard to explain).
Also I have some questions about voicemail? I got the message with the password in it but then accidently deleted it. Now I cannot access my voicemail and it iritates me!
Someone please help?

This is a wast of money. Honestley I had it for a month and I HATE it. The phone consently freezes with your texting and then it say out of service rang or its going into the service range. I will not get tex messages till an hour later. Im suppose to have unlimited mobile brower if I put so much on it. Well it never works. The ubs cord doesnt work. The calculator sucks. If u want application be willing to pay out of your ying yang
