Lacks power supply but it’s still a valuable piece of Apple history

A rare Bell & Howell MICRO Computer Apple II Plus that was assembled specifically for educational purposes is now available on eBay where it’s currently fetching around 400 bucks for its lucky owner.

If you want a piece of Apple history, seller christique1 says “it is a model that was built for education by Apple for Bell & Howell and it has a dark chassis instead of the usual tan.”

The computer comes “As IS” meaning the seller doesn’t ensure it even works. Plus, it doesn’t have a power supply. Some savvy users might be able to supply one, however.

“I have no idea whether or not it works or of all the parts are intact but I can see that it is missing the power supply,” says christique1. “I know the parts must be valuable to someone…there were only so many made.

The seller adds that the unit was stored in a dry garage, and that it doesn’t exhibit any signs of water damage.

“It had a plastic covering over the keys, so the keyboard is in remarkably good condition. There are some dings, scratches, and tape residue, as to be expected from a school computer,” reads the seller’s description.

“There is some double stick tape residue around the outer edge of the keyboard display and also that spot on the top it. I didn't try to remove it, but I would think it could be removed.”

The current bid is US $405.00 (around 307 EUR). Visit the eBay auction page here to check out a photo gallery and a short Wiki description of the system. There are 12 hours left before the auction ends. In other words, if you want this baby, hurry up and make a bid!
