Bad news for Bell Canada customers who purchased the Galaxy Note hoping that Samsung would deliver the promised Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update by the end of this month.

Although a Bell internal document leaked last month somewhat confirmed that the long-awaited update would be released to Galaxy Note devices sometime in April, it appears that there have been some changes and the update has been pushed to May.

The folks over at MobileSyrup published a more recent Bell internal document which states that Samsung Galaxy Note will receive its Android 4.0 ICS update in May.

Just like the previous document, this one mentions that this is just an estimated release date, which means that it's subject to changes.

It's unclear why Bell and Samsung decided to push the release of the update to May, but it may have something to do with the South Korean's recent announcement, which revealed plans to deliver a more advanced Android 4.0 package for the Galaxy Note.

Those who are not familiar with Samsung's announcement regarding the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Galaxy Note should know that this device will get a "Premium Suite,” which will include extra multimedia features and several new S Pen optimized apps.

Among the new software that will be added to Galaxy Note with the Ice Cream Sandwich update, Samsung confirmed the following apps: S Note, Shape Match, Formula Match and My Story.

Besides these exclusive new features, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring lots of improvements and new functions, including Face Unlock, Android Beam for NFC (Near Field Communications), as well as enhanced cloud-based connectivity.

Furthermore, users will be able to view data used by network type, thanks to the new “Monitor and Manage data usage” feature. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
