Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update has yet to make its entrance in Canada. For the time being, the only smartphone confirmed for an upgrade is Samsung Galaxy S II.

However, there are no timelines for the rollout of the update, so Canadian customers can only hope to get it from various carriers in the following weeks.

The good news is that at least one major carrier will push the Android 4.0 ICS update for Galaxy S II next month.

Although Bell has yet to come forward with an official statement, the guys over at MobileSyrup got their hands on an internal document, which confirms the operator plans to deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich update to 7 devices.

The official document confirms Bell will offer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the following devices:

- Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy Note (April 2012); - Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (May 2012); - Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, HTC Sensation and HTC Raider (June 2012); - LG Optimus LTE (July 2012).

Keep in mind that these timelines are only “estimated release” dates, which means they are subject to change. Still, we can safely assume that Samsung Galaxy S II owners will get their Ice Cream Sandwich update sometime in April.

In addition, Bell also states that support for some features may vary by manufacturer, which probably means that not all of them will be available for the listed devices.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring lots of new features and improvements, including Face Unlock, Android Beam, as well as enhanced cloud-based connectivity.

Furthermore, users will be able to view data used by network type, thanks to the new “Monitor and Manage data usage” feature.

With the People application users can browse updates and info on friends and family, as well as check status updates from Google+ and other social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
