Officials believe that civilians have been targeted in the attack

A car bomb has blown up in the Hizbollah stronghold in Beirut, Lebanon leaving dozens of people injured, the majority of which are children.

According to Sky News, the toll is currently at 37 wounded in the attack.

The blast hit close to the headquarters of the Lebanese Hizbollah group, pro-Syrian Shiite militants.

The video shown above was captured after the explosion, and it reveals the debilitating extent of the damage.

The car bomb on Tuesday, July 9, is believed to have been aimed at civilians, according to MP Ali Ammar. It was placed in the parking lot of a busy shopping center.

“I have no information about this, and no Hezbollah figure was wounded. The only ones wounded were civilians,” he tells the Daily Star.
