A man in Beijing has created a stunning piece of architecture in the middle of the town. The man that everyone knows only as “Professor Zhang” built a mountain-like palace on the rooftop of an urban building.

According to the Telegraph, he tore down a penthouse and built his Mediterranean looking chateau on the 26th floor of the apartment complex.

Construction works started in 2007, and neighbors are exasperated by the constant noise that they have experienced throughout this time.

It appears that building the palace has also caused leaks and cracks in the building structure. The castle is now complete, and their noisy neighbor is hosting all-night parties on the rooftop.

They are now planning to sue the residents for constructing the structure without the proper permits.

"Obviously the first concern for the other residents is the increased structural load that has been placed on the building, and if this is causing any detrimental effects, such as subsidence, on the overall property. It does look like quite a lot of tonnage has been put up without any reinforcements," says property litigation lawyer Paul Gerard.
