Intex Aqua T2 is the cheapest KitKat smartphone ever

Yesterday we told you that Google rolled out the first series of Android One smartphones, which are handsets to be sold under very cheap price tags. They also offer a near-stock Android experience, so they are a pretty worthy bunch, especially considering that future updates will be coming from Google directly.

However, if you’re not looking for a long-term smartphone but crave the Android 4.4 KitKat experience, we have great news for you and your budget. The $44 / €34 smartphone has been launched into the wild, in the form of the Intex Aqua T2, as reported by Android OS.

With such a price tag don’t expect this little gadget to bring much to the table. Aqua arrives with a 3.5-inch screen with 320 x 480 pixel resolution and takes advantage of a 1.3GHz dual-core CPU (from the MediaTek garden) fitted with a meager 256MB of RAM.

Other specifications include just 512MB on-board storage, two cameras (2MP on the back and VGA up in front), dual SIM, and a smallish 1200 mAh battery.

With so little storage to take advantage of, I’m not sure if you’ll really get to enjoy what KitKat has to offer, but hey, at least you know it’s there and you can see it before your eyes, right?

The Intex Aqua T2 will be sold exclusively in India through Flipkart.
