We've seen various attempts at marrying jewelry and tech, so we weren't all that taken aback by this newest project, but some may still like to know about what may but will probably never be.
Designers Yoo-Kyung Shin and Hanhsi Chen
created a concept known as Empty Memory.
Essentially, it is a jewelry collection that works as USB memory sticks with storage capacity of 4GB.
Armed with Rhodium plating, the collection has Structure and Transparency designs, suggesting that they are just waiting to be filled (hence the Empty Memory moniker).
The Structure series has either white or black Rhodium plating, while the Transparency line has mirror or stainless brushed finishing.
Rose Gold and black Rhodium plating are envisioned for Transparency drive jewels as well.
Alas, like so very many other design concepts, nothing will come of these USB 2.0 ideas, unless some IT company or another decides to give them a go.
