Microsoft has made available a behind-the-scenes video designed to share with consumers the story of the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 Studio Series patterns.

According to the Redmond company, inspiration for the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 Studio Series designs came from nature, hobbies and the city.

Microsoft Hardware designers Lindsey Kujawski and Kate Bailey ended up opting to use very early sketches they had put together to better resonate with users.

“Each pattern may have been inspired by something different, but the series is tied together by a consistent look and tactile experience,” Microsoft said.

“The designers’ goal was to make the patterns subtle, so that you see a solid color from far away and discover the linework and detail as you move closer. And in printing the patterns on the mice, they raised the outlines so that you feel them slightly as your fingers move along the mouse’s surface.”
