Four KDE contributors have managed to produce a handbook for new KDE developers, in just five days, with help from several organizations.

A guide that would help new KDE contributors was needed, giving potential developers valuable insights of what such task would entail. Google was the one to propose to KDE developers a chance to write a book, in less than a week.

According to the writers, most of the work was done last October, when the four contributors gathered at the Google offices in Mountain View, California to write the guide.

They were not alone as they had the support of Adam Hyde from FLOSS Manuals and from Gunner of Aspiration: Better Tools for a Better World.

Long story short, Beginner's Guide to KDE Development was done in less then a week and published, in print and online, by Lulu.

If you are a contributor or just want to help out, the book can be edited on the FLOSS Manuals site by creating an account. It's not hard, and everyone is invited!
