David Beckham's high security BMW has been stolen in Madrid, Spain.

The car was in the care of one of Beckham's employees, in the La Moraleja region of the Spanish capital. As he had forgotten to switch on the vehicle's tracking system, it has simply disappeared.

The BMW was an armour-platet one, valued at $180,000 (GBP 100,000).

Even though the police are currently looking for the precious asset, one can only imagine the English soccer's reaction.

As a source declared for The Sun newspaper, "he is gutted.. David loves this car."
"David loves his cars and he wasn't happy when he heard. He had lent the BMW to an employee who was staying near the Beckhams' home. It was parked in the street and got stolen overnight."

The silver-grey X5, which is left-hand drive and has Spanish plates, was bought after a kidnap attempt on son Brooklyn, aged six. It was parked in a street near the star's �5million mansion in Madrid when it was driven away.

"The police suspect a gang of professional car thieves who spotted its value. They don't think they even know it belongs to David", said a source close to the Real Madrid player.
