David Beckham's father was worried about his son when he heard he's dating Posh Spice Victoria.
Ted Beckham, 56, declared to a British newspaper that he was worried for his son, because of Victoria's entourage from the music business and about how the relationship would affect David's football career.
"You're very wary of anyone getting together - the pop star world," Ted told The Mirror. "We were worried. I liked David going to bed at 10pm. Purely because he's a disciplined professional football player.
"David's not a drinker, he's never been a drinker. The pop world - you don't know what time they're out until. That was our worry. At the end of the day, it's David's wishes. If he wants to go out with Victoria, that's down to David. It's not down to us."
Speaking about Victoria's parents, Tony and Jackie, he added, "We are in-laws. I don't live out of his pocket, he doesn't live out of mine. When we meet up we talk.
I've got my mates and friends, he's got his. But for people to say we're arguing all the time is a load of lies. When you get married, whose family are you going to spend the most time with?
"It's difficult for any husband and his mum and dad. It's so awkward, it's such a shame. It does affect you in loads of ways. At the end of the day, you have to get on with people."
