The other day, a piece in the British tabloid the Daily Mail went viral. Written by Samantha Brick, it argued that she (Samantha) could attest that life was very difficult when one was so painfully beautiful as she was.

She also said that all woman she'd ever met in her 41 years ended up hating her for being so attractive.

As you may imagine, reaction to the initial piece and the follow-up, in which Ms. Brick basically claimed that she'd just been proven right, was immediate – and very fiery.

Ms. Brick was a guest on the latest ITV This Morning show, where she talked a bit about her regrets for writing those things (she has none), her arguments for her claims, and whether it was all just a PR stunt.

You can see a video of the interview below, embedded at the end of the article.

Also invited was a psychiatrist who tried to make Ms. Brick understand that, if people had such a major issue with her, perhaps it wasn't the world that should change but herself, a theory which she immediately shut down.

To say that Samantha Brick was ripped to pieces in the interview by the two other women on the show would be an understatement.

First of all, she didn't want to admit that she was generalizing when she wrote that all women hate all beautiful women, but neither was she willing to admit that her experience had been too insignificant so far.

She insists, though, that the reaction her initial piece in the Mail generated has only confirmed what she's been saying: people hate her because she's so pretty.

Reaction to the interview has been strangely similar to that to her article: people find her terribly annoying and, yes, some even admit to hating her, but it's not because she's so unbearably good looking but rather because she's arrogant, vain, condescending and irritating.

Some even go as far as to point out that the psychiatrist is much prettier than she is – but that is a different matter altogether.

Check out the interview.
