The game doesn’t have a fixed release date, but it's not too far off

Firewatch, an FPS adventure game set in the Wyoming wilderness, will be arriving on Linux sometime in 2015.

The game is being developed by a new studio called Campo Santo, which is formed by a number of veteran developers from other studios, like Telltale Games, Klei Interactive, 2K Marin, and even Double Fine.

The developers release a short trailer, which sets the premise of the game. The player is a fire watcher in Wyoming, who also happens to go through some personal problems in his life. The entire game seems to keep the player alone, but something happens and the main character needs to abandon his post.

"In Firewatch you play as a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it's your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot and dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor, a woman named Delilah, is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio - and is your only contact with the world you've left behind," reads the synopsis of the game.

The engine used in the game is quite impressive, although the developers seem to have added a cell shading effect to it. The announced platforms for Firewatch are Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X and the launch date is sometime in 2015.
