A Colorado family's car has been trashed by a family of bears, probably looking for breath mints.

Bob Monzel of Indian Hills described that he left nothing to eat in the car, except for gum and mints.

The seats were left beyond recognition, the air bags were deployed and shredded and about every portion of the car was tempered with.

“The doors were ajar. The two front seats were shredded to bare metal. Both doors were completely ripped, and the air bags had been ripped out. There really isn’t a piece of plastic inside that’s still intact,” he details for ABC News.

He suspects that his car has been the victim of a female bear and her two cubs. The animals have been spotted in town during the last week.

Monzel's insurance company will handle the reparation costs, but he has learned to be more careful in the future.
