Be My Oscar Date, Gabourey Sidibe Tells Justin Timberlake

Newcomer Gabourey Sidibe is nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Academy Awards, as we also informed you a couple of days ago. In a recent media interview cited by People magazine, the 26-year-old “Precious” star revealed that she wouldn’t like anything more than to have Justin Timberlake as a date on Oscars night.

The critically acclaimed actress, who already has many nominations and awards under her belt, says her biggest dilemma right now about the ceremony that will take place on March 7 is not so much what to wear as it’s who to bring along. Of all the men she knows (not necessarily in person), she’d love it if she could bring Timberlake as a date, and she even goes the extra mile to make a direct plea to the singer and actor, just in case he happens to be tuning in and hears her words.

“Following her Oscar nomination this week for Best Actress, Precious star Gabourey Sidibe is now facing a tough decision: Who to bring to the March 7 ceremony. That’s not to say that the actress, 26, hasn’t been giving this some thought already. ‘I want to make Justin Timberlake and [The Hurt Locker actor] Anthony Mackie fight it out for the honor of being my date,’ Sidibe told the Canadian entertainment TV show eTalk this week. ‘I’m just going to throw them in the ring and make them do it!’” People writes, citing the actress.

“But if Sidibe had to narrow it down to one guy, her heart is set on Timberlake. At one point during the interview, Sidibe turns toward the camera and makes her direct appeal. ‘Justin,’ she says, ‘if you’re not doing anything on that night, maybe you could be my date or something. It’s fine. No pressure!’ (What would his girlfriend Jessica Biel think?)” the same publication further informs.

As also noted above, this is not the first time that Sibide professes her love for ‘N Sync boys and Justin in particular. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, where she talked about how she’d come to be more confident about her looks by simply deciding one day that she was beautiful, the actress also said Timberlake and Bradley Cooper ranked as her two favorite hotties in Hollywood right now.
