After AC Milan and Chelsea entered the race of signing Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy, another big name in the European football seems interested in offering the Dutchman a great deal for the next season. After all, his leaving the English club seems to be more that certain, even if he repeatedly stated that he wants to stay with the club. Sir Alex Ferguson sure took care of that, after arguing that he no longer needs him.
Well, since Bayern Munich already lost Michael Ballack to Chelsea earlier last month, they are seeking to close the deal with Van Nistelrooy. The news came in earlier today, when Bayern chairman, Karl-Heinz Rumenigge, stated that the Dutchman should have come to Germany from the beginning - in 2001 - but Man U got to him first.
"Had his move to Manchester United in 2001 fallen through, he would have wanted to come here. We are not going to do anything behind the back of Manchester United, first we must find out if he really is available", said the German official.
Louis Saha seems to have gained his place in the starting team at Manchester, after Sir Alex Ferguson had some unfinished business with Ruud. Actually, the Man U manager is not the only one who wants Ruud out. Cristiano Ronaldo was insulted by the Dutchman a few months ago, after he was accused of holding the ball too much.
Still, it is expected that Bayern Munich will search deep down into their pockets if they want Ruud in the squad, since Man U paid almost 30 million Euros for taking him from PSV Eindhoven. He managed to score a number of 150 goals for the Premiership side, and is one of the most prolific strikers that ever played on Old Trafford.
