Battlestar Galatica Gets Carriers for both Colonials and Cylons

Video game developer Bigpoint has announced that the free-to-play MMO Battlestar Galactica is getting a new type of ship, the Carrier, which will enter a space trial until the end of February and will then become a full feature of the game.

The Carriers will be the biggest and most powerful ship to appear in the game (Pegasus and Basestars can only be rented) and will fill the fleet support and supply roles, hosting up to nine strike profile ships, allowing others to repair and rearm themselves during missions and offering tactical advice and coordination for the surrounding area of space.

During the test phase, only players who are level 30 or higher can enter a lottery to get access to the Carriers in Battlestar Galactica Online and could then pilot them on the Kobol public beta server.

After that gamers will be able to be purchased by those who are level 40 or higher and can part with 400,000 cubits and 90,000 in-game Merit.
