Hardline matches Battlefield 4's performance, apparently

Battlefield Hardline might run at a 60fps framerate and at resolutions like 720p on Xbox One and 900p on PS4, according to a vague statement from Electronic Arts, which says that Hardline is going to match the performance figures of Battlefield 4 on the new consoles.

Battlefield Hardline just saw its major beta stage launch yesterday across all platforms, i.e. PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Hardline matches Battlefield 4's performance

While the initial impressions are relatively good, the studio is still busy polishing the first-person shooter in order to deliver a great experience. The actual performance figures have yet to be revealed, even if developer Visceral Games promised last year that it was targeting 1080p and 60fps across the new-generation consoles.

Now, via GamesonNet, EA confirms in a rather vague manner that Hardline will play at "60fps using the same resolution settings as Battlefield 4."

In case you forgot, Battlefield 4 ran at 720p on Xbox One and 900p on PS4, when it was released back in 2013. The game was plagued by many glitches and problems but none of the updates ever improved its native resolution.

EA no longer comments on the matter

While EA doesn't outright say that Hardline is going to run at the same exact figures, it has contacted Videogamer to shed a bit more light and emphasize that it doesn't have any further comment on the subject.

As such, it's quite possible that Visceral is still going to make a few improvements to the visual performance and the native resolution of Battlefield Hardline ahead of its release on March 17, in North America, and March 19, in Europe.

As of right now, fans can try out the new beta stage across the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms and see just how it runs on their own devices.
