The development team at Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts might not yet be ready to offer an official launch date for the beta period of Battlefield: Hardline, but at least one developer is keen to offer the fan community as many details as possible before they manage to get their hands on the first-person shooter and experience its new mechanics and maps.

Thaddeus Sasser is the lead multiplayer designer and has used his Twitter account to deliver a lot of small bits of information, mostly addressing the many questions that long-time fans of the franchise have about the new title.

He says that there are no plans to put any kind of limit on the level that gamers can achieve in the beta period for Battlefield: Hardline and that those taking part will be able to get access to all the unlocks included in the game.

The developers have also opted for a more open structure for progression than in previous titles, which means weapons and gadgets can be obtained at any time as long as gamers have the currency required.

The single and the multiplayer elements of the title will be separate, with no weapons moving from one to another, but everything obtained in the beta will be offered in the final version of Battlefield: Hardline.

Unfortunately, even Sasser was unable to offer any details on when the beta would be available.

The leading multiplayer designer also confirms that large versions for the modes exist and can be played with 64 total players on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC, and with half that number on last-gen consoles.

Unfortunately, only some maps will support these modes.

There will be no option to get currency using real world money and the developers at Visceral Games say they are aiming to create a game which can welcome newcomers even as it rewards veterans who get access to a lot of gear and hone their tactics in time.

The new title was supposed to arrive in the fall, but problems with the first beta have forced Visceral and Electronic Arts to delay it so that the core mechanics could be improved.

Battlefield: Hardline is at the moment set to be released on all platforms on March 17 in the United States and March 19 in Europe.
