Video game developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are introducing a new series of events for Battlefield Hardline that are designed to allow players to face off against teams made up of game makers.

Game with Devs will take place on Thursday, April 30, between 1 PM Pacific Time and 3 PM, and on Friday, May 1, between the same hours.

The announcement explains that during the four hours players will be able to engage in multiplayer action with developers from Visceral Games, DICE in Los Angeles and DICE in Stockholm, with passwords for those interested offered in the livestreams.

The companies add, "If you won’t make the matches, don’t despair – we’ve prepped the livestreams with all kinds of happenings. You can spectate the games, watch interviews with the Battlefield Hardline team, or take part of giveaways if you participate in online multiplayer matches."

It seems that DICE plans to introduce regular Game with Devs events such as this one in the coming months, allowing the community to see how the people who created the core mechanics use them to try and dominate the battlefield.

Regular engagement with the community is important for all titles and especially so for a shooter like Battlefield Hardline that needs a high number of players to remain relevant.

Battlefield Hardline will get more content in the coming months

Visceral Games has already revealed that it will be launching a new Criminal Activity downloadable content pack for its title relatively quickly.

More maps will be introduced, and there are other DLC packs that will be added to the shooter in 2015 and 2016, all of them offered initially to those who have paid for a Season Pass.

Electronic Arts has not yet offered clear sales numbers for Battlefield Hardline, but the game has apparently performed well despite the fact that it was delayed from its original autumn 2014 date.

A new Battlefield title will not be revealed until 2016.

DICE is at the moment working on the Star Wars Battlefront experience that will arrive this fall, and Visceral Games will be offering long-term support for Hardline.
