14 DAY TRIAL // Battlefield Hardline is the first title in the series to move away from the focus on military action in order to shift to the conflict between law enforcement and criminal gangs, and the development team at Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are really pushing the theme with the new reveal of the items and gadgets that players will be able to use.
The official site shows a long list including some classic elements, like a variety of grenade types and a ballistic shield, but also some innovative new ideas.
A new gun will fire darts which are designed to attack enemies or vehicles in order to see how they move around the world, but also to allow rocket launchers to lock onto targets that are not necessarily visible.
Gamers will also get access to gear in Battlefield Hardline based on their class, and it will be interesting to see how much impact the gadgets have on the combat results.
Visceral Games has allowed players to try out the items in the open beta and has said that some small changes to how they work, none of them detailed so far, will be made based on the feedback offered by the community.
Recently, the developers at Visceral Games have also revealed the full list of vehicles that can be used in Battlefield Hardline, with the most interesting choices being the assault boat and the attack chopper, which will probably have quite an impact on the way matches evolve.
Battlefield Hardline needs both content and stability
When Battlefield 4 was first launched, it had a range of problems linked to the multiplayer experience and the balance of the various classes and weapons, and DICE needed a lot of patches in order to make the game solid for its fans.
Visceral Games really needs to avoid this kind of issues with Battlefield Hardline, which has been already delayed once because of quality concerns raised by fans after the first beta period.
One of the changes made is to introduce new choices for both the criminals and the police forces.
The title is at the moment set to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and last-gen consoles on March 17 in North America and on March 19 in Europe.
